POLICY WRITING

The Roosevelt Institute is dedicated to creating progressive public policy. All of our activism and outreach are centered around specific policy issues, and much of what we do rests in research and writing. Each year, the Roosevelt Institute National Network releases 10 Ideas. These are the best ten policy ideas submitted by students.

Last year, our President Sarmishta Govindhan, submitted a policy piece alongside Matthew Perry which was published in the 2017 10 Ideas journal. The policy idea, which is about prison labor, can be read here!

POLICY ISSUES

Some key policy issues Roosevelters have worked on in the past include Democratic Access, Housing Policy, Education Policy, and MTA Policy. While our Chapter focuses mainly on policy that specifically effects NYC and New York State, we encourage our members to branch out and explore important issues all over the United States and beyond.
